Some songs I have written are not a linear story that goes from A to Z in any logical timeline. They’re much more a combination of all these fragment segments coming from anecdotes, conversations, situations, dreams, memories etc. This stream of consciousness type of songwriting gives me the freedom to throw in a lot of different elements that are spinning inside my head for a while and give them a proper home in a song. For people with no access inside my head it would be probably very hard to understand what these kind of songs are all about. But because it is such a free form of songwriting you can hear whatever you want in the lyrics. To me it makes perfect sense anyway. I really like the fact that one single word can change the complete context of the song. I am not looking for a song “in" Andalucía, I am looking at Andalucía as a muse who might be willing to provide me a song as long as I am obedient to the muse. Andalucía is not just an area in the south of Spain at this point. It becomes something bigger, something abstract, even spiritual if you want. My sentences are fully open and I am ready to receive inspiration.
